About

She/her

I am a multi-disciplinary artist working across live performance, photography, and poetry.

As a theatre-maker I collaborate with scientists, poets, and performers to create engaging, immersive work that marries social issues with science, curiosity, and play.

As a photographer I value accessibility and affordability, scaling my rates according to audience capacity and production budget. During festivals (MICF, Melbourne Fringe), these rates can be as low as $80 for a 60-minute independent production.

Close to Home has been created by Kate Cameron in collaboration with a team of artists, ecologists, and audiences. The work is an invitation to consider the ecology of home and is presented as a series of images that mimic and abstract the curatorial processes of homemaking and housing animals in captivity. Stories grounded in history, myth, and scientific and emotional observation thread together to form a careful tapestry that represents the interconnectedness and fragility of the social and biological ecosystems we exist within and construct for ourselves. “Welcome home” is the greeting extended as you arrive, followed by a sensitive and site-responsive performance that guides you through immersive, sensory activations full of nostalgia and provocation.

Presented by flatpack. as part of Melbourne Fringe Festival, Oct 16-20, 2024.

I respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri, Woiworung and Boon Wurrung people, the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which I live, learn and work. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded.
